Moisture Detection
In November 2022 the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities requested data on damp and mould hazards in the private rented sector as it was identified as one of the 29 hazards assessed under the Housing Health in Safety Rating System (HHSRS). Under legislation if was agreed that the most dangerous Category 1 & 2 hazards needed to be addressed to create better maintained, healthier, energy efficient homes for residents.
CB Services Group is assisting housing providers in addressing their challenges through the implementation of cutting-edge products that aid in moisture detection. One such product is the Aico EI1000G Gateway environmental sensor, which monitors not only the temperature and humidity in a property, but also detects the presence of carbon monoxide.
By installing these innovative sensors, CB Services Group is helping housing providers stay proactive in ensuring the safety and well-being of their occupants. These sensors provide valuable information that allows for early detection and prevention of potential issues related to moisture and carbon monoxide, ultimately creating a healthier living environment for residents.

LED Lighting
LED lights offer a simple solution for promoting sustainability. With their extended lifespan, energy efficiency, and absence of heat or UV emissions, they present numerous advantages. An impressive 70% of the energy generated by an LED bulb is transformed into light, while their low temperature makes them a safer choice.
By merely swapping out a single 60-watt incandescent bulb for an LED alternative, you can significantly reduce your carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 160kg. This small change can have a substantial impact on the environment and contribute to a greener future.
Electric Vehicle Charging (EV)
Switching to an electric vehicle offers a more cost-effective and environmentally friendly mode of transportation. Our team of skilled engineers are certified electricians, have received specialised training from the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) and are OZEV installers, the expertise required for the installation and upkeep of charging stations and a requirement to claim grants.
Charge point grants are available from the Government for renters and flat owners or for businesses you can claim via the Workplace Charging Scheme.
Insulation
The benefits of insulation include protecting your home from heat loss, saving money on heating bills, reducing your carbon footprint, and providing easy and quick installation. e.g.in an uninsulated home, approximately 25% of heat is lost through the roof.
There are various types of insulation available and our experienced installers can advise you on the options available for your home.
It is important for air to flow in and out of your house to maintain freshness, dryness, and a healthy environment so our skilled installers will ensure that no intentional ventilation points such as vents, grilles, or airbricks are blocked or sealed, to avoid moisture that could cause damp and mould.
Heat Pumps
Converting the heat from the air into useful energy and hot water is an effective way to reduce your carbon footprint. There are two alternatives available for this purpose: air source heat pumps, which extract air from the outside environment, and exhaust air heat pumps, which recycle the air already present inside your home.
By utilising heat pumps, you can decrease your dependency on fossil fuels and avoid the release of harmful gases. These systems are also compatible with PV panels as an energy source, and they work well with underfloor heating systems by operating at lower water delivery temperatures.

Photovoltaic Panels (PV)
Solar panels offer a sustainable solution for harnessing solar energy and converting it into electricity. Additionally, The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is currently in its fourth iteration, known as ECO4. This funding opportunity is exclusively available to households that meet specific eligibility criteria, which include:
- Household income below £31,000 per year.
- Referral from your energy provider, local authority, or doctor.
- Receipt of certain benefits.
To qualify for ECO4 funding for solar panels, your home must also utilize an electrical heat source, such as a heat pump or electric boiler. Additionally, your home should meet certain insulation standards, making you eligible for funding for home insulation as well.
