Challenges:
- Estate has a very high crime rate so a full-time supervisor was required
- Podium steps were used on the open balconies to ensure engineers were unable to fall
- A parking bay was obtained from Hyde housing to house our container and heated toilet due to no storage or toilet facilities on site
- Due to lighting being required each night all light fittings that were removed each day had to be reinstated and re-energized by night to ensure the safety of the residents and to ensure elderly residents could navigate the block safely
Results:
- Installation of 324 No. Designplan 3-hour emergency back-up LED energy saving lights
- 324 tamper/vandal proof lights with fire rated single core cabling. wireless smart scan system for remote light flick testing
- All containment and cabling were contained in 25mm Galvanised steel conduit for maximum protection
- Refurbished ceilings where lighting was replaced making residents communal areas brighter and aesthetically pleasing.
- Lighting system notifies hyde daily at 12pm of the condition of the lights
- Light fittings are a quarter of the wattage of the previous lights and LED helping save energy
