Location

Scope of Work:

  • To complete 3838 Electrical Safety tests on domestic properties in and around London. If the test is unsatisfactory we would provide details of works that need to be carried out to make the property safe under the requirements of BS7671.

Process:

  • After being allocated a list of properties that require new or updated electrical tests by the client, our first point of call would be to introduce ourselves to the tenants. A letter introducing ourselves, explaining the work we would be required to carry out and contact details of how to contact us for any enquires or to book an appointment for us to attend.

Following this letter, we contacted each tenant individually via phone or email making bookings with them to carry out the test and remedial works on their property.

Each booking was added on to our live calendar Team Up for the engineers, our engineers would attend on the appointment date within the allocated time slot given this is normally split into AM 8am – 12pm / PM 12pm – 5pm. We had 4 Engineers working each day covering 4 properties per day equaling to 320 properties every 4 weeks. If the client sent over urgent visits due to expiry of a test, we were able to provide up to 4 extra engineers to complete the tests before the required deadline.

Once the engineer had gain access to the property, they would complete a full Electrical installation condition report . This included a full test covering everything from the consumer unit to checks of all electrical accessories in the property. If items in the property were causing the test to be unsatisfactory, accessories would be changed or added, and the board would be added to or changed to make it compliant under BS7671 all works would be carried out within a client specified cost limit.

Once each job is complete the engineer would upload all before and after photos of any works carried out on to the jobs on our live calendar Team Up, this gives us a view of the property and its condition they can then mark the job as complete for administration our client to see. The same day the engineer would provide us with their engineer sheet and certificate (Using Easy Cert) ready for processing, these would be audited and signed by our dedicated QS within 48 hours of job completion but we usually carry this out within 24 hours and issue to the Client along with a cost sheet of each job completed by our administration team.

The supervisor that was appointed to this work stream carried out random post inspections of any complete jobs on a weekly basis, this gave us a good over view of quality of work.

With the jobs allocated we completed over 92% with satisfactory Certificates. The remaining jobs were attended to over 3 times and contacted by our administration team weekly to try to gain access.
